Home and garden FAQs
What do I need to start my garden?
The first thing you are going to need is a sense of humor. Starting
up a garden is not quite as easy as many people think it is. There is
a lot of hard work that goes into it, but at the same time, there is
no guarantee that you will see the fruits of your hard work. In many
different areas of your work, there are going to be times when you simply
will need to try to do things by trial and error. Sometimes they will
work and sometimes they will not. If something does work, give yourself
a pat on the back and feel proud of the job you did. If something does
not work, keep a good sense of humor about it and go back to the old
drawing board.
How much space do I need for a great garden?
The success of your garden depends a lot less on the area it covers
and relies a lot more on you and what you choose to do with it. Even
though people are amazed at very large gardens that are colorful and
have all kinds of different varieties of plants and sculptures and streams
and bridges, when you really get down to it they are not as impressed
by the size as they are with what you have done in the area you have
allotted to you. Regardless of if you have 1,000 square feet or 1,000
square inches, it matters most what you do with the area.
Is it better to weed once a month or more often?
Although nobody likes to weed, if you only weed one time a month, you
may soon begin to see that waiting a month in between doing this is
too long. If you give weeds a whole month to grow, not only will they
be longer, but they will also have the opportunity to take root more.
This means that they will be harder to pull up out of the ground. For
the best and easiest results, you will most likely want to weed once
a week. Although this is more often, the job will be much easier because
the weeds will not be very strong.
