Garden supplies
One of the first questions that any new gardener has is, what kind
of garden supplies do I need? The question is a good one. The fact is
that there are thousands of different types of supplies and tools. This
means that it can be pretty difficult for any single person to be able
to really know what to get when they start out.
So, in an effort to help take the guess work out of the process, here
are the top five supplies that you will need.
• Shovel - If you are going to have a nice garden, you are definitely
going to need a shovel. Actually, you are going to need probably more
than just one good shovel. You will want to start out with at least
two shovels. One of these can be used when planting and digging small
holes and the other will need to be used for bigger holes.
• Soil - Some people are blessed enough to have very fertile
soil outside of their home and in their gardens. If this describes you,
you are lucky. Most people need to get out to the store and buy some
very fertile soil if they want to make sure that what they are planting
is going to grow.
• Hose - The importance of a hose is quite obvious. Without it,
you would have quite a bit of trouble getting water to the plants that
need it. These items are particularly important in areas that are in
arid climates. Because there may not be much moisture for days at a
time, a little extra help is needed.
• Seeds - Before you plant the seeds, you need to know what you
want to plant. Having the right kinds of seeds will make or break your
garden. It is important that you do your best in helping to make sure
that you are planting the kinds of fruits, vegetables and flowers that
will grow in the area in which you live.
• Gloves - Although you might not want to think about weeding,
it is a fact that you will need to do it. Because this is necessary,
you will need to make sure that you have gloves to protect your hands
from the slightly painful work.
If you start off by making sure that you have these five garden supplies,
you should be in good shape because you have started to provide a solid
starting point for yourself.
