Garden designs

When it comes to the topic of garden designs, it is a fact that it is all of the smaller items that creates the overall feel and look of a garden. This means that even though you might want an Asian design or an Italian design in your garden, this is not achieved in one fail swoop, but rather it is done one piece at a time.

That being said, here are some pieces that may be nice to have when creating overall themes:

• Streams - Having a small stream or creek run through your garden does something to your garden that very few other items could do. Because these items include water, on a larger scale they add life to the garden. Whereas most of the living things in your garden are stagnate, having a stream will provide your garden with something that moves and makes sounds. It helps give more life to the overall feel of the whole garden.

• Bridges - If you have streams, you are going to need to have bridges. These bridges can vary in size quite a bit depending on how much water they need to cover. If you have just a very small stream of water, the bridge you use may not need to be more than 2-3 feet long. If you have a larger garden area with a larger creek, you may need to get a bridge that is upwards of 10 feet long. The point here is that regardless of what kind of bridge you need, you will be able to find what you want because there are so many different sizes and shapes.

Using these items in your garden designs can help take your garden from being a nice garden, to being a garden with a real touch of class.
